Simple File Shredder is a utility that securely deletes your files so they can't be restored using recovery software. SFS ensures your privacy by scrambling the filename, encrypting the file with a random key, overwriting the file up to 20 times with random bytes, changing the file date and time to a random date-and-time value, and verifying that the file has been completely shredded before deleting it. A good use for this would be to securely delete electronic financial statements, private e-mail, and porn. Version 2.2 features a new system junk shredder, as well as shell integration fixes. |
