Password Policy Enforcer allows network administrators to create and enforce a password policy. A password policy ensures that users are choosing strong (difficult to crack) passwords. PPE checks every new password for compliance with the policy and rejects any password that is easily cracked or guessed. PPE displays password policy messages that help users to choose a compliant password without having to call the helpdesk for assistance. Unlike password cracking products that evaluate passwords after they have been accepted by the operating system, PPE checks and rejects passwords in real-time. This ensures that weak passwords are rejected before they jeopardize network security. The optional PPE/Web client allows users to securely change their Windows passwords using a web browser. |
